upper body exercise machine

TORSOSPIN STORY

seated upper body cycle

At 74, Tom was retired and looking for a way to rebuild his upper-body strength after surgery had temporarily sidelined him. What began as a personal challenge would eventually become the foundation for TorsoSpin.

Working in his barn on Cape Cod, Tom experimented with an unconventional idea. Kneeling behind his exercise bike, he began using his arms to pedal, similar to equipment he had encountered in a physical therapy setting. The movement was simple, but the results surprised him. He could feel his back, shoulders and core working while his stiff joints began to loosen. More importantly, he found the movement enjoyable and invigorating.

Tom began to wonder: What if this could help other people stay active, too?

So he started building.

After a dozen prototypes, the concept evolved into an upright machine designed to make upper-body rotational exercise accessible to people of all ages and fitness levels. His goal was never to create another complicated piece of gym equipment. He wanted something sturdy, versatile and affordable, a machine that could help people keep moving throughout every stage of life.
